    Problem with TwainControlVB

    Hi from Barcelona,

I have a licenced version of DotImage 6.0 and my OS is Windows XP Home Edition.
I've developed several winform apps and works ok.
But now I need to develop a web app to scan remotely.

I've tried to run the DotImage ASP.NET Web Demo and works ok but I have problems to run TwainControlVB.
When I try to view the html page in browser  "TwainControl.html" I have an error while loading the control into the page.

I've verified the items that the page shows.

    1) My Internet Explorer is 6.0
    2) IE security is medium
    3) Localhost is not in Trusted Sites lists.
    4) The Atalasoft.Dot.Twain.dll and Atalasoft.Shared.dll weren't in the same folder as the web page, so I've copied them in the same folder.
    5) My DotImage is licensed but I can't find the Atalasoft.dotImage.lic or Atalasoft.DotTwain.lic. I can create winforms apps with Atalasoft and redistribute them, and they work ok.
    6) I've verified the security settings and are ok
7)The classeid and code base tags are http://localhost/DotTwain60ControlVB/TwainControl.dll#TwainControl.Twain
    http://localhost/DotTwain60ControlVB/Atalasoft.DotTwain.dll
but I don't know if they are ok.

Can you help me with this problem?

     Thanks in advance

    Re: Problem with TwainControlVB

The license file needs to be in the same folder as the web page and DotTwain assembly.  On XP your license file would be in "C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Local Settings\Atalasoft\DotImage 6.0".

What error do you get?  Is it a web page error or do you get a licensing error shown in a message box?

Be sure to check the 'TwainControl.dll.config' in that folder as well.  It has a URL that may need to be updated.
